For Developers

Monitoring You Can Manage From Code

Create and change monitors from your own scripts and pipelines, feed deploys into incident timelines, and react to alerts with signed webhooks.

REST APIAvailable

Monitors, incidents and maintenance windows are all available over a JSON REST API, authenticated with a workspace API key (API keys are included on Starter, Growth and Pro).

curl https://api.sutramx.com/monitors \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUTRAMX_API_KEY"

curl -X POST https://api.sutramx.com/monitors \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUTRAMX_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"name":"Checkout API","type":"http","url":"https://api.example.com/health","interval_seconds":60}'

Deploy eventsAvailable

Send a deploy event from CI, GitHub or GitLab and each incident lists the deploys most likely to have caused it (deployment correlation is included on Growth and Pro). Requests are signed with your workspace's deploy-hook secret.

BODY='{"service_name":"web","environment":"production","version":"'"$GIT_SHA"'"}'
TS=$(date +%s)
SIG="sha256=$(printf '%s.%s' "$TS" "$BODY" | openssl dgst -sha256 -hmac "$SUTRAMX_DEPLOY_SECRET" | cut -d' ' -f2)"
curl -X POST "$SUTRAMX_DEPLOY_HOOK_URL" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "X-SutramX-Timestamp: $TS" -H "X-SutramX-Signature: $SIG" \
  -d "$BODY"

Netlify and Render

  • NetlifyIn developmentConnect your Netlify account: each site gets a monitor, and signed deploy notifications feed deployment correlation.
  • RenderIn developmentPaste a Render API key: each web service gets a monitor, and a Render webhook reports finished deploys.

Outgoing webhooksAvailable

Every down and recovery event can be posted as JSON to your own endpoint, signed with an HMAC so you can verify it came from SutramX. See the integration guides.

Monitoring as code

  • CLIAvailableA sutramx command for listing and changing monitors, and for applying monitors from a config file in your repository. Install it with npm install -g @sutramx/cli; see the CLI docs and the GitHub Action.
  • Terraform providerAvailableDeclare monitors, status pages and alert channels next to the infrastructure they watch. Published on the Terraform Registry as sutramx/sutramx; see the Terraform docs.
  • MCP serverAvailableLet AI assistants and agents that speak the Model Context Protocol list monitors, check incidents and pause or create monitors, using a scoped API key. Run it with npx -y @sutramx/mcp-server (MCP Registry: io.github.SutramX/mcp-server); see the MCP docs.
  • OpenTelemetry exportIn developmentSend check results to your own observability stack as OpenTelemetry traces.
