Beyond HTTP, SutramX monitors hosts with ICMP ping, network services with TCP and UDP port checks, and cron jobs or background workers with heartbeat URLs: the job calls a unique URL each time it runs, and SutramX alerts when a ping is late or missing. Every monitor type is available on every plan, including Free.
Network-level checks
A web check tells you a page loaded. It says nothing about the mail server, the database port your workers depend on, or the UDP service your game or VoIP stack runs on. Network-level monitors fill that gap from outside your infrastructure.
Ping checks confirm a host is reachable and track round-trip latency. TCP port checks confirm a service is listening and completing a connection. UDP checks send a datagram and verify the service answers.
- Ping (ICMP)Host reachability and round-trip time from each probe region.
- TCP portDatabases, SMTP/IMAP, SSH, Redis, custom services — anything that accepts a connection.
- UDPDNS servers, game servers, VoIP and other datagram services.
Heartbeat monitoring for cron jobs
Scheduled jobs fail silently. A backup that stopped running last month looks exactly like a backup that ran fine — until you need it. Heartbeat monitoring inverts the check: your job calls a unique SutramX URL each time it finishes, and SutramX alerts you when the call does not arrive on schedule.
SSL and domain expiry reminders
An expired certificate or a lapsed domain registration causes some of the most complete outages there are: everything is healthy, and nobody can reach it. Turn on expiry reminders for any HTTP or API monitor and SutramX warns you before the certificate expires (30 days ahead by default, then 15, 7 and 2 days and 24 hours out) and before the domain registration lapses, using the registry's RDAP data.
Reminders go by email and to your connected chat and webhook channels, and are switched on per monitor, on every plan including Free.
