Settings & profile

Every section of SutramX Profile and Account settings: name, time zone, theme, security, sessions, API keys, notifications and the danger zone.

Your account pages live in the Account group at the bottom of the sidebar. Account and Plans & billing each open a page with tabs:

Profile#

Name and time zone#

Click Edit profile, change the fields, then click Save changes.

FieldWhat it doesDefault / limits
Full nameShown to your team and in emailsRequired, up to 255 characters
Time zoneDates and times across the dashboard are shown in this zoneUTC for new accounts. Search the list, e.g. "Kolkata" or "New_York"

If your saved time zone differs from your browser's, a Use this browser's zone link sets it in one click.

Your avatar shows your initials. There's no picture upload.

Sign-in email#

Shows your email and whether it's verified or not verified yet. To change it, click Change email. See Change your email.

Account information#

A read-only summary: Member since, Plan, Subscription status, the renewal or end date, Payment provider, Latest invoice and Default payment method. Billing & invoices opens the Billing page.

Account settings#

The page has a section menu: Appearance, Security, Sessions, Email, API keys, Authorized apps, OpenTelemetry, Connected accounts, Single sign-on, Import and Danger zone. You can link straight to a section, for example https://app.sutramx.com/settings#api-keys.

Appearance#

Choose Light, Dark or System (follows your device's setting). The choice is saved in your browser, not your account, so set it on each browser you use. The sun/moon button in the sidebar switches between light and dark quickly.

Security#

  • Password: Change password, or Set a password if you signed up with Google or GitHub.
  • Two-factor authentication: set up an Authenticator app, Email codes or both, and manage Backup codes.

Both are covered step by step in Sign-in & security.

Sessions#

Lists every browser and device signed in to your account, with IP address, sign-in time and last activity.

  • Sign out ends one session.
  • Sign out all other sessions ends all but this one.
  • Remembered devices lists browsers where you chose to skip 2FA for 30 days. Use Forget or Forget all to remove them.
  • Recent sign-ins shows your 20 most recent sign-ins.

See Sessions.

Analytics cookies#

Below Appearance, Analytics cookies shows whether optional product analytics are Allowed or Off, with a button to change it. The choice also applies on sutramx.com.

Email preferences#

Under Email in the section menu, a switch turns occasional product update emails on or off. Monitoring alerts, billing, security and service notices are always sent.

API keys#

API keys let scripts, CI, the REST API and infrastructure-as-code tools act on this workspace. The section header shows how many keys you've used out of your plan's allowance. See Plans & limits.

To create a key (workspace owner, with a verified email):

  1. Click Create API key.
  2. Enter a Key name, for example "CI deploy hook". Up to 100 characters.
  3. Under Access, choose the least access the key needs: Read-only (selected by default), Standard or Automation.
  4. Click Create key.
  5. Copy the key, which starts with sk_. It's shown only once. Then click Done.
Access levelCan doCan't do
Read-only (default)Read monitors, incidents, status pages and stats. Recommended for AI assistants (MCP) and dashboardsCreate, change, pause or delete anything (403 READ_ONLY_ACCESS)
StandardEverything a workspace member can: monitors, groups, incidents, status pages, check results, reliabilityAlert channels, the OpenTelemetry export, billing, team, API keys, account settings
AutomationEverything standard keys can, plus create, edit and delete alert channels (including webhooks) and the OpenTelemetry export. Needed for Terraform or a config file that manages integrationsBilling, team, workspace, API keys, account settings

The access level is fixed when the key is created. To change it, create a new key.

The list shows each key's name, a Read-only or Automation label (standard keys have none), the first characters of the key, when it was created, and when it was Last used (or Never used). Members can see the list but can't create or delete keys.

To revoke a key, click Delete and confirm with Delete key. Anything using it stops working immediately. Creating and deleting keys is recorded in the workspace activity log, and you get an email each time.

Authorized apps#

Lists apps you connected to SutramX by signing in, such as a Claude.ai connector for the SutramX MCP server, with the workspace each one can reach and whether it is Read only or Can make changes. Click Revoke to cut an app off immediately. Authorized apps never get access to API keys, team, billing or account settings.

OpenTelemetry#

Coming soon: optionally sends each check result to your own OpenTelemetry collector. Only the workspace owner (or an API key with the Automation access level) can set it up. See GitHub, OTel & more.

Connected accounts#

Shows whether Google and GitHub are linked, and whether you have an Email and password login. Use Link Google / Link GitHub or Unlink. See Google and GitHub.

Single sign-on#

SAML single sign-on for your workspace's team. Only the owner can configure it. See Single sign-on (SAML).

Import#

Start an import moves monitors and on-call settings from another monitoring tool. See Migrate from another tool.

Danger zone#

Visible to everyone, but only the workspace owner can use it:

Members see "Only the owner of {workspace} can delete it. You can leave it from the Team page."

Notification preferences#

In the sidebar, open Alerts → On-call & escalation. The Notification Preferences section has a switch for each type. Changes save immediately.

PreferenceWhat it controlsDefault
Monitor Down AlertsAlert emails when a monitor goes downOn
Monitor Recovery AlertsAlert emails when a monitor comes back upOn
Weekly ReportsThe weekly summary emailOn
SSL Certificate ExpiryReminders when SSL certificates are about to expireOff
Maintenance AlertsNotices about scheduled maintenance windowsOn

These preferences apply to the whole workspace, not just to you, and only the workspace owner can change them. Members can see them. Turning off Monitor Down Alerts or Monitor Recovery Alerts only skips the alert emails: incidents still open, and chat and paging channels, escalation and status page subscribers are still notified. For who receives alerts and through which channels, see How alerting works and Escalation & on-call.

Browser push alerts#

Push notifications in your browser are set up per browser on the Integrations tab of Alerts → Channels & API, not in Account settings. See Email & push.

Common questions#

Why can't I click Create API key? Only the workspace owner can create keys, your email must be verified, and your plan must include API keys with room left.

Why does a teammate see different times than I do? Each person's profile time zone controls how they see times. Set yours under Account → Profile, in Time zone.

Is there a language setting? No. The dashboard is in English.
