Affiliate program

The SutramX affiliate program pays you a commission when people you refer become paying customers. You apply from your dashboard. Once you're approved, you get a personal referral link and can follow clicks, signups, commissions and payouts in one place.

The current program terms (commission rate, how long commission recurs, referral window, hold period and minimum payout) are always shown on the Affiliate program page in your dashboard, under How it works and Program terms. They can change over time, so check there for the current values.

Joining the program#

1. In the dashboard sidebar, open Account and select the Affiliate program tab (https://app.sutramx.com/affiliates).
2. Read How it works, then fill in the Apply form.
3. Select Apply to the program.

You need a verified email address to apply. Each account can apply once. Your application is reviewed by hand, and you get an email when it's decided. While you wait, the page shows that your application is being reviewed.

If the program isn't taking new affiliates, the page says "The affiliate program isn't accepting new applications right now."

Your referral link#

Once you're approved, Your referral link appears with a Copy button. It looks like this:

• By default, the link takes visitors to the SutramX website.
• Add ?to=signup to send them straight to the sign-up page, for example https://app.sutramx.com/r/<your-code>?to=signup.

How referrals are tracked#

1. When someone opens your link, the visit is recorded. Visitor IP addresses are stored only as a one-way hash.
2. Your referral code is saved in a first-party cookie for the program's referral window. If a visitor clicks several affiliates' links, the first link wins.
3. If they create an account within that window, the new account is credited to you right after signup. Each account can only be credited to one affiliate.

A referral doesn't count if:

• It's your own account, including aliases of your own email address (for example name+2@…, or Gmail addresses with dots).
• The account has already paid SutramX before.
• The account was already referred by someone else.

Referrals from the same company email domain as yours are accepted but may be reviewed.

Commissions#

You earn a commission on each payment a referred customer makes during the program's commission window. The window starts at their first payment. Commission is a percentage of what the customer paid, excluding tax. Your rate is shown on your dashboard.

Each commission moves through these statuses in the Commission ledger:

Refunds and chargebacks#

If a referred customer's payment is refunded or charged back, the commission on it is reversed. Partial refunds reverse the matching share. If that commission was already paid out, the amount is taken off your next payout.

Your dashboard#

After you're approved, the Affiliate program page shows:

• Referral stats: Clicks (30 days), All clicks, Signups and Paying customers.
• Earnings: your on-hold, payable and paid totals, by currency (USD and INR are tracked separately).
• Commission ledger: each commission, with the date, customer (email partly hidden), payment amount, commission and status.
• Payouts: payouts sent to you.
• Program terms: the current rate, commission window, referral window, hold period and minimum payout.

Payouts#

Payouts are sent by hand once your payable balance in a currency reaches the minimum payout. You get an email when a payout is sent. SutramX pays by bank transfer, UPI, PayPal or Wise, using the details you saved.

To update where you're paid:

1. On Affiliate program, go to Payout details.
2. Choose a Method and enter your Details (at least 3 characters).
3. Optionally add a Tax ID (PAN / GSTIN / VAT, optional).
4. If you changed the method or details, confirm it's you with your password or a verification code.
5. Select Save payout details.

For your security, SutramX emails you when your payout destination changes and holds payouts to the new destination for 7 days. The page shows the date the hold ends.

Account status#

Your affiliate account can be approved, rejected or suspended. If it's rejected or suspended, the page shows a notice, with a note if one was added. Payments made while your account isn't approved don't earn commission.

Common questions#

Do I need a paid plan to be an affiliate? No. You need a SutramX account with a verified email.

Can I refer my own other accounts? No. Self-referrals are refused, and any commission on them is reversed.
