Plans & limits

Compare the Free, Starter, Growth and Pro plans, learn what each limit means, what happens when you reach one, and how your billing market is chosen.

SutramX has four plans: Free, Starter, Growth and Pro. Every account starts on Free, which needs no card and does not expire. The table below is live: it shows current prices and limits for both billing markets.

What each limit means#

LimitWhat it means
MonitorsHow many monitors can be active (running) at once. Paused monitors don't count. This allowance covers every workspace you own.
Minimum check intervalThe shortest interval you can give a monitor. You can always pick a longer one.
Probe regions per monitorHow many probe locations check each monitor. A plan that shows All uses every active location, including ones added later.
Regions that must agree before an incident opensThe down quorum: how many regions must see a failure before SutramX opens an incident and alerts you. It can't be more than the number of regions the monitor actually uses.
Status pagesHow many status pages can be published in each workspace.
API keysHow many usable API keys each workspace can have. A dash means the plan doesn't include API access. "Unlimited" means reasonable use.
Team membersUnlimited on every plan. There is no per-seat pricing.
Multi-step API check stepsThe most requests one multi-step API check can chain. Plans that show a dash don't include multi-step checks.
Browser check runs per monthHow many browser check runs your plan includes each month. A dash means the plan doesn't include browser checks.
AI generations per monthHow many AI drafts (incident summaries, postmortem drafts, status update drafts) you can generate each calendar month (UTC).
SMS / WhatsApp / voice call credits per monthYour monthly allowance of phone alert credits. Each SMS, WhatsApp message or voice call uses one credit. See Alert credits.

Regions and down quorum#

Each paid plan allows more probe locations. Where a plan's allowance is larger than the number of locations running today, monitors use every live location, and the extra allowance applies as new locations come online. You can choose which live regions each monitor uses, on every plan including Free: the plan sets how many regions a monitor checks from, not which ones. If none of your picks is live any more, the monitor falls back to the plan's default regions.

Your billing market also decides which regions a monitor uses by default. Accounts in the India market get locations in India first, then the nearest others, then everything else. The global market draws from the full list in order. See Regions & confirmation for how regions confirm an outage, and the live list of locations:

RegionCodeCountryContinent
FRA1 (Frankfurt, Germany)fra1GermanyEurope
AZ (Arizona, USA)usa-az-probe——
IN (Mumbai)in-mumbaiIndiaAsia

Heartbeat (cron) monitors are always checked by SutramX itself and use a quorum of 1, whatever your plan.

AI generations#

AI features are included in the plans that have them. They are never billed separately. Only successful generations count toward your monthly limit. If you ask for the same draft again and nothing has changed, SutramX returns the saved result, and that doesn't count. Nothing an AI drafts is published automatically. See AI incident assist.

Feature gates#

Some features are only included on certain plans. The live table above lists every gate by plan. In general:

  • Every plan, including Free: email, Slack, Discord, Telegram and Microsoft Teams alerts, browser push alerts, DNS record and MCP server monitors, incident explanations and flakiness scores, vendor outage detection, on-demand checks from Indian ISP networks, unlimited team members and email support.
  • Starter and up add webhook alerts, multi-step API checks, third-party status monitoring, SMS and WhatsApp alerts with monthly credits, and support tickets in the app.
  • Growth and up add PagerDuty and Opsgenie, escalation policies, custom status page domains, private (password-protected) and multi-language status pages, website health checks, scheduled checks from Indian ISP networks with ISP-only notices, browser checks, SLO tracking, monitor dependencies, deployment correlation, usage cost tracking, weekly reports, AI incident summaries, AI-drafted status updates and voice call alerts.
  • Pro adds white-label status pages, on-call schedules, status pages behind SSO, SAML single sign-on for your team, AI postmortem drafts and priority support (tickets are answered first).

If the live table and this list ever disagree, the table is correct.

What happens when you hit a limit#

SutramX never deletes anything because of a limit. When you reach one, the action is blocked and you see an upgrade prompt that links to Plans & billing → Plans:

  • Monitors: creating or resuming a monitor fails with a "monitors limit reached" message. Pause or delete a monitor, or upgrade.
  • Check interval: saving a monitor with an interval below your plan's minimum fails, and the message tells you the minimum.
  • Status pages / API keys: creating or publishing one more than your plan allows fails.
  • Feature gates: a feature your plan doesn't include returns "Feature not available on your plan". Alert channels your plan doesn't include can't be added.
  • Multi-step steps: a multi-step check with more steps than your plan allows can't be saved.
  • AI generations: once you've used the month's allowance, new drafts are refused until the next calendar month (UTC).
  • Alert credits: once your allowance and any pack credits for a channel run out, alerts on that channel are skipped. Email and your other channels keep working. See Alert credits.

To see your usage, go to Plans & billing → Billing in the dashboard and look at Plan & usage. It shows active monitors, published status pages and API keys against your limits. It also counts anything paused, unpublished or disabled by a plan limit.

When your plan gets smaller#

When you downgrade, or a paid plan ends and your account returns to Free, SutramX brings your account within the new limits:

  • Your oldest monitors stay active up to the limit. The rest are paused, not deleted.
  • Intervals faster than the new minimum are slowed to it. The interval you chose is remembered and comes back when you upgrade.
  • Extra API keys are disabled, and extra status pages are unpublished. The oldest stay usable.
  • Custom status page domains stop serving (their settings are kept), and white-label is turned off.

When you upgrade again, everything SutramX paused or disabled comes back automatically, up to your new limits. Monitors you paused yourself stay paused. See Upgrade, downgrade & cancel.

Billing markets: USD or INR#

SutramX sells every plan in two markets:

MarketCurrencyPayment providerPayment methods
GlobalUSDDodo Payments (merchant of record)Card
IndiaINRRazorpayUPI Autopay, card, netbanking

How your market is chosen#

There is no currency switch. Your market comes from where you are connecting from:

  1. Until you pay, SutramX picks the market from your location each time you open Plans or checkout: India gets INR prices through Razorpay, everywhere else gets USD prices through Dodo Payments. The pricing page on sutramx.com uses the same rule, so the price you see there is the price at checkout.
  2. After your first successful payment, the market is fixed and no longer follows your location. It can also be fixed earlier by your card's country, or while autopay is already set up in one currency.

If your location was detected wrongly, or you need to move a fixed market, contact support@sutramx.com. Your market also sets which probe regions your plan uses first (see Regions and down quorum).

Monthly or annual billing#

Every paid plan can be billed monthly or annually. Use the Monthly / Yearly toggle on the Plans or Billing page to compare prices. Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically until you cancel.

  • Switching from monthly to yearly starts right away, with a prorated charge.
  • Switching from yearly to monthly takes effect at the end of your current year.

See Upgrade, downgrade & cancel.

Price lock#

The price of your plan and billing interval does not go up while your subscription stays active, even if list prices change later. If you change plan or interval (or support moves your billing market), the current price of the new choice applies and is then locked. If you cancel and subscribe again later, the prices at that time apply.

Plans are per account#

A plan belongs to the account that pays for it, the workspace owner. Everyone in a workspace gets the owner's plan. Members don't need their own subscription. The monitor allowance and alert credits are shared across every workspace the owner owns. Status page and API key limits apply to each workspace. See Workspaces.

Common questions#

Can I try SutramX before paying? Yes: use the Free plan. It's free forever, needs no card and never expires. When you upgrade, you're charged at checkout and the plan starts right away.

Do paused monitors count toward my limit? No. Only active monitors count.

Is there an uptime commitment? Growth and Pro have a 99.9% monthly uptime target for the SutramX service. If we miss it, you can ask for a service credit, which SutramX may grant at its discretion; credits aren't automatic. See Uptime target. Free and Starter have no uptime target.

Can I get a custom plan? Contact support@sutramx.com.
